UNSOLVED
Inoperable computer
I tried installing sp2, and it failed. Now my system is inoperable. I tried to reinstall windows xp, and it gets to the point of 34 minutes left, and then the screen goes to bad_pool_caller, and I can't do anything except go to safe mode, and then that's it. It keeps on repeating the xp install and then back again. Help please.. I have a Dimension 2400 running xp. I also didn't get a reboot cd with it. If there is such a thing. Anyone know the step to take to reformat the harddrive?

Open up your tower and remove the modem (the green rectangular card) where your phone line goes into. then restart the systemw with the xp disk .

when the system powers on and you see the lights on the KB flash hold down ctrl and press F11. you've got about 2 seconds to do this
if you bought your system before 7-16-04 you need to call dell and get them to send you the cds, they won't send you any microsoft cds other than XP and if you wait til the end of the month they're supposedly gonna start shipping cds with SP2 integrated
