I've looked for this..........

I looked to see if there were any questions about what I'm about to post and didn't really find any matches/solutions to my issue. I have Vista Ultimate installed on a 500gb HDD. I just finished installing XP on the secondary drive that holds 300gb. The only way I can switch OSs is if I switch which HDD boots first. I'm confused on how I can choose which one to boot without having to go in manually and change things around. Help please?

If you had installed the older OS first, then the newer OS, you'd end up with a dual boot menu.

Since you did it the other way around, look for a program called VistaBootPro and give it a try. It should do what you're looking for.

I looked at the program, it doesn't say anything about a dual boot process...I would like the option to choose which OS to boot. For example, I start the PC I want to use the arrow keys up or down to choose between vista or XP. Is that making any sense? My PC already boots vista first and I get no such screen.

I believe that once you install VistaBootPro, it will automatically detect that you have two OS's installed, and create a dual-boot menu for you.

Well, the program worked for the first few times, and now it seems that XP isn't recognized. Now what? I get some kind of boot error when trying to start up XP, but it goes so fast I can't see it, and then black screen. So I don't know.
