Temporary IDE usage

Simple question - is it safe for me to unplug the IDE connector in my new 9100 (currently connected to the CD & DVD drives) and to use it to connect to an old IDE 120Gb drive so that I can transfer data to the Serial ATA drive inside the new PC ?  Power is available for the IDE drive but the only IDE connector on the motherboard is used for the CD/DVD.

thanks

Yes, you can temporarily disconnect the CD drives inorder to transfer stuff from an old hdd to your new SATA drive.
