I would like to make a manual battery test on a dell ups 5600W but when i try to find the option in the ups menus following the manual I am only able to schedulle a battery test. If i try to do same option from ups dell local node manager i get an error. Do you know how can i launch a amanula battery test ? If it is not posible, is it safe to schedulle a battery test ? As far as I know this test is run every 3 months but in case baterries are not ok, what would happen ? In case of amanual test I would like to run out of working hours.
Thanks for your quick reply. The procedure that you are sending for manual test is correct, but when enter battery test option, only automatic baterry test option is available ( see screenshot ).
regarding test schedulle I would like to make sure that they are safe and that will no affect to production in case the baterries are not ok.
To configure Automatic Battery tests you would need to do the following;
1) Press the button for longer than one second to go to the main menu selection and scroll down to the Settings menu using the button. 2) Press the button to enter the Settings menu. 3) Use the button to scroll to the Automatic Battery Tests option and press the button. The option begins to flash. 4) Select whether to enable or disable the automatic battery test using the and buttons. 5) Press the button to confirm.
To simply run the battery test you would need to do the following;
Connect the UPS to utility power for at least 48 hours to charge the batteries. 2 Press the button for one second to go to the main menu selection and scroll down to the Control menu using the button. 3 Press the button to enter the Control menu. 4 Use the button to scroll to the Battery Test option. 5 Press the button to start the battery test. During the battery test, the UPS transfers to Battery mode and discharges the batteries for 25% of the original expected runtime. The status screen displays “Battery test running” and the percentage of the test completed. The results display on the UPS status screen when complete.
Currently I am not aware of a way to schedule the tests for a specific time. I can look into it for you though.

The test shouldn't affect your production environment normally, with the battery possibly failing I would probably schedule downtime for the test. Just to be certain.

That was my idea, to perform a manual test out of working hours but the problem is that in my ups I do not find that option, only schedule a battery test and I do not know when that tests will be performed.
Any idea why I am not getting manual test option in that menu ?
