.ISO Files from Dell Unsupported by Rufus
Rufus refuses to create a USB device from many of the ISO files that were published by Dell for the PowerEdge R320. I have been using Rufus for years now, in fact before Dell began to recommend it. The error message is "This image is either non-bootable, or it uses a boot or compression method that is not supported by Rufus.". I found another post from 2018 saying that Dell admitted there were issues with the ISO files and Rufus, but I cannot find anything official and SURELY Dell would update the KB that says to use Rufus if things were STILL broken, right?
I have tried the DUU and SUU .ISO files for the PowerEdge R320 from Dell. I setup the quirky Dell Repository Manager 3.4.3.869 and the SUU that is generated from it has the same error, but when I create the Smart Bootable ISO Rufus does not complain. I have used the current version of Rufus 3.21.1949 portable on Windows 10 22H2 x64 and go back as far as Rufus 3.08.
How are people using these ISO files with Rufus? I do not have iDrac on older equipment and want to use bootable ISO to ensure I have ONE method to update ANY server no matter what OS is installed. I used the very helpful https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000128194/updating-firmware-and-drivers-on-dell-emc-poweredge-servers to get to this point.

We don't support Rufus but supply it as an option. I do have an article linked below that may help.
You could try the one that prandal suggested.
I would first recommend try a different USB, and/or try one that is 8GB or less.

If the Bootable ISO fails to run after being applied to a Bootable usb please change the server boot mode to BIOS or UEFI mode and attempt the procedure again. If the Bootable ISO continues to fail, it is recommended to download the iso again or try applying the image to a different USB key.
Note: Rufus is not a Dell certified software. Installation and use on own risk. We share our best practices with Rufus but do not support issues regarding this program
The DELL EMC Server Update Utility is not a bootable ISO
Installation instructions
1. Download the Full ISO file.
2. Use ISO mounting software and mount the downloaded iso image.
3. Browse to the folder.
4. Double Click suulauncher.exe.
The Dell Systems Build and Update Utility is bootable but I urge caution as you could wipe the system if used incorrectly.
