Kernel error on Dell PowerEdge T640
The OS is Ubuntu server 18.04.1.
There are some errors in the /var/log/syslog.

Ubuntu 18.04.1 is officially certified by Dell.
If these errors need to be fixed? How to do that?
- Thanks a lot. I find a paper, https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/ubuntu-server-16.04_release-notes_en-us.pdf. For ubuntu 16.04, there is a similar issue. You mean the issue can be also ignored in 18.04 because there is no functionality loss?

From what I can tell, the error is showing up because hardware isn't responding to ACPI. With it being for power, you might be able to toggle the system profile to OS controlled Performance per Watt mode, but other than that, I would ignore it or turn it off. The other modes either have the server run at full performance, or let the firmware written for our hardware to control these settings.
Changing the profile doesn't help the same case in our R430. The following changes were applied:
DenseCfgOptimized -> PerfPerWattOptimizedOs
Which affects
EnergyEfficientTurbo=Disabled -> Enabled
MemPatrolScrub=Extended -> Standard
MemRefreshRate=2x -> 1x
ProcPwrPerf=SysDbpm -> OsDbpm
ProcTurboMode=Disabled -> Enabled

I'm happy to try to assist. but I need the fundamental information. What error are you seeing and where? What operating system is installed on the host? Can you detail what's happening and how it's affecting use?

ACPI is "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface." Looking at the error messages, it seems to be the case that it cannot interact with hardware the way that it wants to. I would try flashing the BIOS to the latest version, if it isn't already at 1.6.13, then I would recommend setting "acpi=off" as a boot parameter. I reviewed the BIOS options, but I didn't see anything within it that appeared to relate to this, though.
