Once or twice a month a message appears on my desktop after boot-up. DLL C:\SYSTEM32\query.dll is not a valid windows file, please look on your installation disk. I must click OK to continue. I have no operational problem. I have the latest updates for XP SP3. I am running Live Onecare AV/firewall and Spy Doctor. I have negative scans including online scans from Norton and McAfee. I do have some query.dll items found on search. Shall I just ignore this occasional message?

Do you use either microsoft office or google desktop? I found this fom a .pdf on the net
"GoogleDesktopCrawl.exe leverages the same DLL (query.dll) that Microsoft’s content indexing service uses to index Office documents."
Have you noticed this since installing sp3? I'm wondering if it could have somehow become corrupted?
Try uploading it to jotti/virustotal to rule out malware
