    HI

Be sure to look this solution over before you begin. There are a some item(s) i'm not familar with. If you recognze any, then just omit them from this fix.

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

    WildTangent

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

Run HiJackThis and click " Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CBFGD2K] C:\documents and settings\ashli lewis\local settings\temp\CBFGD2K.exe

    O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52/20020713/qtinstall.info.apple.com/samantha/us/win/QuickTimeInstaller.exe
    O16 - DPF: {42F2C9BA-614F-47C0-B3E3-ECFD34EED658} (Installer Class) - http://www.tbcode.com/ist/softwares/v4.0/ysb_regular.cab
    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://207.188.7.150/043e3091af805da79b03/netzip/RdxIE2.cab

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click " Fix checked".

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

    folders...
    C:\Program Files\WildTangent

    files...
    C:\documents and settings\ashli lewis\local settings\temp\CBFGD2K.exe

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're ' in use', try deleting them from " Safe Mode".

Reboot and post a new log, and let me know how everything goes.

    Steve

Let's take out the BIG GUNS,

    Smitfraud Fix/SpyAxe Fix

Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

    Please download SpyAxe
and save it to your desktop. Close all other programs and windows.
Double click SpyAxeFix.exe and click Start to extract the tool to it's own folder.

Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
    http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

    Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
    Ad-Aware SE Setup
    Don't run it yet!

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CBFGD2K] C:\documents and settings\ashli lewis\local settings\temp\CBFGD2K.exe

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

    files...

    C:\documents and settings\ashli lewis\local settings\temp\CBFGD2K.exe

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're ' in use', try deleting them from " Safe Mode".

    Exit Explorer

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Locate the SpyAxeFix folder and double click the SpyAxeFix.bat to start the tool.
At one point when the tool runs, your taskbar will disappear, and your computer will restart when the tool completes.
Two text files will be created in the SpyAxeFix folder. Please post the contents of both.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

    Run Ewido:

    • Click on scanner
    • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
    • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
    • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
    • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
    • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
    • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
    • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
    • Save the report to your desktop
    Close Ewido

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck " Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut.
Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
A new window will open...click the Check Now button

    • Enter your Country
    • Enter your State/Province
    • Enter your e-mail address and click send
    • Select either Home User or Company
    • Click the big Scan Now button
    • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
    • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)

    Steve,

2 things...with the adware I did not remove some things (about 5-10 items) because of a warning they were imbedded in the directory or Cache' or something...also, amazingly after along night, in the end, I see the final product Panda still found 2 viruses...neither of which I've removed yet...awaiting further advice..you can see them in the report near the bottom.

If I missed posting a report, let me know. THANKS!

    Dave

Post a fresh HJT log, and the results of the Panda scan.

How is the system working now?
