Trojan horse

I am using the AVG antivirus protection. I keep getting a VIRUS DETECTED! message and when I heal or delete the file it still pops back up. It tells me this is while opening file: C:/Windows/System32/rdriv.sys, it also tells me this is a Trojan horse Generic.GM. I don't know what to do.

Download the Hoster from:

http://www.funkytoad.com/

Unpack to your desktop and run it. If you have green print at the top then just press Restore Original Hosts then OK.
IF you have red print then press make Hosts Writeable first.

Start then right click on My Computer and press Manage. In the new window
Service and Applications then Services. In the right pane scroll down and find
the NTsystem (System). Double click on it and and then set the Start Type
to Disabled. Then OK.

Get DelDomain.inf from:

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf and then right click on it and Install.

Also download and install ccleaner.exe from http://www.ccleaner.com. Don't let
it clean anything yet.

Download the killbox:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php

Where it says Full Path of File to Delete you need to type or copy (Hightlight and Ctrl + c) and Paste (move to the killbox and place the cursor in the box and Ctrl + V):

C:\WINDOWS\ntsys32.exe

Click on Delete on Reboot then press the red button, agree you want to delete the file but don't let it reboot.

Repeat for:

C:\WINDOWS\iTunesMusic.exe (it may not find it)

and for:

C:/Windows/System32/rdriv.sys

Click on Delete on Reboot then press the red button, agree you want to delete the file and let it reboot.

If you get a message about and External Process then try again once you get to Safe Mode.

Shutdown and restart and
Boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when you see the PC maker's logo.
Keep tapping until it tells you it is going to Safe Mode or you see the Safe
Mode menu. Select the top option.

Run HijackThis and check the box in front of each

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [svcdata.exe] svcdata.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [svcdata.exe] svcdata.exe
O23 - Service: NTsystem (System) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\ntsys32.exe

Press Fix Checked and ignore any warnings.

Run ccleaner.exe, uncheck everything on the first page except the two entries
with Temporary and then Run Cleaner.

Reboot into regular mode.

Get RootkitRevealer from:

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/RootkitRevealer.html

and see if it finds anything.

Run HijackThis and make a new log and post it as a Reply.

Log still looks bad.

Download the killbox:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php

Unzip it to your desktop.

Boot into Safe Mode as before. Make sure you logon with your usual logon name. Do not use Administrator.

Run HijackTHis and do a Scan only. Check the following and then Fix Checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [svcdata.exe] svcdata.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [svcdata.exe] svcdata.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [svcdata.exe] svcdata.exe

If you don't see the last line you are probably logged in as Administrator.

Run Killbox

Where it says Full Path of File to Delete you need to type or copy (Hightlight and Ctrl + c)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\svcdata.exe

Then check the Delete on Reboot box then the red button.

Check the two items and reboot then run a new hijackthis log and post it as a reply. Make sure you have no programs running on your desktop when you do your log.

Looks better but I think we should check/Fix Checked these two:
