VCM Database is degarded

HI team,

Good day, I am having 1 VCM DB for a symmetrix frame .Past couple of hours if I am trying to run any commands , it is getting timed out .

even mapping is getting timed out . I am wondering what is making VCM DB take this much time in daily operations .

Could you please update what is making operations take this much time.

Also how this can be fixed in future .

what is exactly timing out ? symmask command or symconfigure commands ?

how do you know if VCM db is degraded?

I would advice you to check the symapi logs for the hints on why the operation is failing.

* Check if you have enough GK devices(not shared between host and single paths if PP is not installed)

* Ensure the the Service Processor is up and running

* Try to search the error you see in symapi logs about timeout in emc knowledgebase

Dynamox, sorry for the delay ..

I was trying to run few changes in my environment but after a couple of steps ... command was not running

it was held at that step only and in the end there is no error message ..

command gets timed out ..
