Changing nasadmin and root password

Quick question.I changed these passwords via the Unisphere GUI and it has changed the passwords on control station 0 but not on control station 1. Is there any reason for this and can I change them via command line on control station 1 without any issues?

Unfortunately, when you log in locally to CS0, it applies only to CS0. You could failover from CS0 to CS1, wait to make sure all the domain stuff has updated, then log into CS1 IP address under the local scope concept, and then try to change passwords.

Or, perhaps simpler, just connect to CS1 via SSH and use # passwd nasadmin then change passwd, and then do the same for user root # passwd root

I manually changed them in the end on CS1 but my question was just to confirm I don't need to update any other links between control station and block storage once I had changed the passwords.

Seems to be working fine so I guess not.

if you changed the password for nasadmin or sysadmin, you may have broken the internal storage scripts on the FILE side.  Run a "nas_storage -c -a" to check the backend.  If it starts spitting out all sorts of crazy errors, you may need to run a "nas_storage -modify id=1 -security" to update with the new nasadmin/sysadmin password.

    Sean,

I'm back on site tomorrow so will try this out just to be sure.

    Thanks.
