Need suggetions to expand a pool

I got a request to create 1TB lun on VNX from a certain pool. Pool has only 400GB available. Pool is created with SAS disks only. I tried to expand the pool but available disks are NLSAS drives. Can i extended pool using NLSAS disks, Does it gets any performance issues.

Yes of course it does have performance implications to add slower disks

You can enable FAST VP if you really want to do this. FAST VP can move the hot/warm data to performance tier, and cool data to capacity tier.

    Absolutely, you could do that.

Please keep in mind that in a tier-enabled storage environment, you could leverage FAST cache which is for performance improvement while FAST VP is for TCO, the cost improvement.

Use a 2-tier pool with SAS and NLSAS and enable FAST cache as a cost-effective way of realizeing Flash performance without dedicated flash drive in the pool. this will relieve you from any performance issue in a certain way.

We have enabled Fast Cache on this pool.

I checked the sizes but drive size are different what was in pool and what available. I have extended the pool which has NLSAS drvies with same size.
