Right now only WRITE SAME and ATS are supported. XCOPY and UNMAP are not. WRITE SAME is passed through to the backend array if possible. I am not entirely sure about ATS though.
WriteSame has been supported since GeoSynchrony 5.2.
XCOPY is planned for GeoSynchrony 5.3.
> If we use 1-1 devices in the VPLEX and the storage backaned array (ex VNX) supports all the VAAI commands, will VPLEX just pass-on the VAAI commands?
VPLEX will pass along WriteSame commands when possible via the device layout, and if the back-end storage-array(s) supports VAAI WriteSame. Basically it tries it's best to utilize the array's writesame capabilities. If it cannot, the writesame becomes a write of zeros of the same size.
ATS commands are handled just like a normal read/write.
