Archiving

When you archive to a floppy or zip disc and the document has hidden files, should you always archive the hidden files. What are these hidden files?

    Sallie,

Can you give an example of what you are doing.  I'm sorry but I'm not real clear here.

I usually archive my indidvidual documents one at a time and I may have been told at the time that "This folder contains____ hidden files. If you want to select these files as well, click the Folder Options command on the View menu to turn on the Show All files option."

Just to check in order to answer your question, I just selected all of my Word documents on C and I got a Select All message as follows:

This folder contains 141 hidden file(s). If you want to select these files as well, click the Folder Options command on the View menu to turn on the Show All files option.

What I am asking is if I want to backup a document or backup the entire My Documents folder at one time, should I include the hidden files?
