Black Screen after System Restore

I recently performed a system restore on my Dimension 4600. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. After the system restored and rebooted I see the dell logo then it goes to a black screen with mouse showing.

I tried rebooting in safe mood, same thing occurs. I used F12 to do a Diagnostic Test and everything was fine, still no boot. I tried a boot from lest known good config and still nothing. I put the upgrade disk in and tried to use that but the black screen just keeps coming up.

All wires are connected and everything was in working order. Please help, any information will help. I would like to try to save the hard drive if I can, but if I have to wipe it, let me know how I can do this. Thanks for your help.

There is a good Guide to Windows Vista Crash Recovery at this link. Page 4 Windows Vista Recovery Environment is your starting point. You need to boot from your Windows Vista reinstallation disk.

Although you say it passed Dell Diagnostics, it looks like you have a hardware problem in addition to any others. Try Step 1 on page 1 of the link I gave you.
