CD and DVD Drivers Not Working

:smileysad: My Computer was working fine for the past few years but now when I put in any CDs like blank, music, photos, or any type of CD. It dosen't open. It says "There is no CD in the D Drive". Also when I burn CDs it says there are no CDs in the drive. I also checked the "Add Hardware", and the drives are working correctly. I opened the CPU and all the cables were connected to the drive. What should I do?

Sounds like your drive is bad, I would go to the store and pick one up. They don't cost that much any more.

    Good luck
    Thanks

You can go to device manager and "Uninstall" the drive and reboot, windows will reinstall it, if it is a good drive, if not replace it..

Try checking (unplug, and plug in, both ends) or replacing the ide cable
