Constant freezing
Hi,
When I am performing a task i.e. the internet, listening to music, doing general stuff, my laptop freezes but it isn’t 'not responding' because I have checked though task manager, it just doesn’t let me continue the task for a short period of time. For example, it lets me view a web page and I’m able to view the page using the scroll bar, but it will not let me press any other button at all I can't view anything else via the task bar either.
After about waiting for about 4-10 minutes everything is normal and this happens every half an hour or more frequent than that sometimes. I have no idea what it is, I have had this laptop for several months and its been brilliant. I don't think it is spyware because I have run many spyware checks and nothing appears.
Regardless to what task m performing this happens and it is annoying.
Hope you can help
Thanks
Dean

Take the side off the case and blow a cool air fan inside. Use system as normal and if problem stops you have an overheating problem.
Run these online scans
Download and run these free programs
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
Update it before running. Get it to fix all the RED entries it finds
If you have more than one stick of RAM (256MB or more) take one out and try again. If it does not help or makes things worse swap the sticks and try again. This will identify if you have a bad stick.
You can put either of these free programs on a floppy and test the RAM

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Try these first and see if anything helps.
