Due to some problems I have decided that I want to start my computer with a clean slate. When I tried to do it through my safemode in Windows ME it would not let me. I think it is important to let you know that I do have any of the start up disks that came with my computer. I am using the disks I have been able to scrape together from friends. I tried to order them from Dell but I have had terrible customer service with them so far.

So this is what I want to know how to do:
I want to be able to format my computer. I need the MS Dos commands to do it. I have my Windows ME CD plus I'm goin' to upgrade to XP with a friend's help. Is there anything else I'm going to need or have to download or do? (I'm really not good with computers so any help will need to be dumbed down for me to understand). Thanks in advance.
