Enable Right-Click?

Dimension 4100 Windows ME
CD/DVD Drive Lite-On SOHC 5232-K
256 MB
IE 6.0
AVG antivirus
Spy-bot
Ad-aware

Can anyone tell me how to enable right click?  It was working fine but yesterday when I tried to right click something in a word document it would not let me.  I cannot right click on anything now. We had house guest for the last few days and I think they might have changed something or downloaded something.

Check mouse properties in control panel.

Thank you for answering but changing right-click isn't one of the options in Mouse Properties.

Try doing a System Restore to "day before yesterday" when it was working correctly. Personal files will be ok.

If that doesn't fix it, go to this link:
    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/restoreproperties.reg

Open a blank notepad window and copy/paste the entire text, including all blank lines into notepad. Save the file on desktop as right.reg

Close all open Windows and end all apps. Double-click on right.reg and accept the offer to modify the registry. Then reboot.

What kind of mouse is it?

Try another mouse, be sure it is not a defective button.

No Restore Points on System Restore.  It had also been turned off.

As for the link you provided, http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/restoreproperties.reg, it appears to be for xp.  We operate Windows ME.  Will the XP fix work with Millenium?

Sorry, my bad. I missed that it was Windows ME. Don't know if the reg fix at Kelly's Korner will work in ME.

Scanned for malware since the intruder visited?

Run regedit and make a back up copy of your registry (export the registry to a file). Then search the Registry for the the key ""NoViewContextMenu". If you find it, change the Dword value to: 00000000

Exit regedit and reboot. If that doesn't fix it or causes problems, you can double-click on the backup copy of your registry to reset things to the way they were before you made any changes.

Caveat: editing the registry manually has it's risks, so if you're unsure of anything, don't do it.

If all else fail, there's a free Context editor here that work for Windows ME. Maybe it will restore this function to your system:
