"Error accessing SMBIOS tables" error from DellCommandPowerManager
I have an error logged in Windows Event Logs that claims to be from "DellCommandPowerManager" and includes the following text:
Error from PolicySetup.exe Message: Error accessing SMBIOS tables Error: (System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException) at SYS-DS02 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))
The error appears to be logged concurrently with attempts to install software updates from Dell, via the "Dell Command Update" utility. So far I have not observed any degradation in the system's behaviour as a result of the error, and the error is not logged all that frequently. I would, however, like to know if there is a resolution, as it is clearly getting in the way of some updates being performed.
Thanks.
