I have a new XPS 420 and for more than a month now all that I got is headache with it. I wasted a lot of time and money talking to 6 or 7 technicians who can not solve this problem. it’s a “Please wait while windows configures Roxio Creator Premiere 10” after about 10 seconds another message appear saying “The feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailable, click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation Roxio Creator Premiere 10.msi….” if I cancel it another message “error 1706 No valid source could be found for a product Roxio Creator Premier 10. The windows installer can not continue“ appear. It always appear every time I right click on something or if I open some programs. I did what a few technicians told me, uninstall and reinstall Roxio the message is gone after that, but the Dell Xcellerator is gone too, said it is installed, but can not find it. Call technician again to find the Dell Xcellerator and after his best he said, he can not find it too, suggested to reformat the computer to have it back to work. After the reformat (put in a factory settings) the errors are still there. I contacted the Roxio Support and suggested me the “Windows Installer Cleanup Utility”, I did exactly the instructions there but same result, The Dell Xcellerator stop working again. I did a lot of ways but still can not solve it perfectly, The Dell Xcellerator is always affected. What a new unit I got here! One technician transferred my call to Dell Software Support and when he told me that the charge is 39euros, I told him that I can not pay anything to fix it, because I don’t want to think that Dell programmed this computer with these errors so that I will call this Dell Software Support to fix and pay for it”, of course he didn’t help me. I don’t know what to do now. Can anybody tell what do I need to do best?
