Evidence Eliminator !! HELP PLEASE

Dear friends,
Just tried Evidence Eliminator, before I test run that software, I have a free space of around 26GB (24%) on my hard drive, when the test runs and I see on the log, it performed some kind of "eliminating free space", so after that test, my hard drive free space is reduced to around 7GB (6%) !!
I did system retore, still the same, I run defragmentation using Diskeeper, I see al the white free space became red fragmented !! And the diskeeper can't change it.
So how can I get back those free space ? Iimmediately unisnatalled that program and never use that again.
Help please.
JD

    JD-

The way most of these programs work is to allocate many smaller files on the drive and overwrite them simultaneously. After it is done the files are deleted and the space is considered "erased". If the program did not complete the files will still be there. I would look to see if many strange filenames were created at about this time look at them and delete them if appropriate. Did your test not complete?

    Dear friends,

It's been sorted, as my broadband modem went down for more than a week, so no prompt reply.

I had Norton uitilities on my PC, so there's some kind of "protected deleted files", I just emptied that bin, then everything is OK, all the free space is back.

    Thanks.
