Exiting Microsoft Updates screen

Dell 8200, Windows XP Home Edition SP2 (build 2600).

A small problem but an irritating one.

When I search for MS Updates and press the 'Custom Install' button I get the 'Select High Priority Updates' screen. I may be told 'no high priority updates'. So far so good. However, I can find no way to gracefully exit the process. I am reduced to pressing the Close button (the little 'x' on the top right of the screen). This provoked the response 'IE has encountered a problem and needs to close', and I have to terminate IE.

Can anyone help me ?

Try clearing the browser cache and deleting tmp files from the hard drive.

    ty_ger,
No, I found where your post should have gone. :)

The OP probably thinks we're both crazy. :D

Ron - It didn't solve the problem, but thanks all the same.
