Get Real Windows XP CD

I just purchased a Dell Dimension 3000 computer.  This computer came with Windows XP Home SP2 pre-installed.  I received a recovery disk, however I would like to have a full CD since I did pay for the product.  I recently read in PC World magazine that Microsoft will provide a true Windows XP CD upon asking for it.  My question is, has anyone done this and if so what is the best way to contact Microsoft to make this request?  Is there a particular email address I could send this request to and if so what info should I send them as proof of my purchase?

Thanks,
Jim

Did you receive a purple re-installation CD by any chance....That would be your windows xp ( full version ).  If not, call dell up and demand the windows xp re-installation cd

Well Microsoft responded to my email and said "When a program is preinstalled on a computer, then support for it is supplied by the manufacturer of that computer. Please contact your computer manufacturer directly regarding this issue. "

So I emailed Dell and they said "I apologize that you did not receive the Windows XP Home CD on your order. I have set up a request for a replacement Windows XP Home CD to be shipped to you in next 3-5 business days. Once your order is completed, it will be shipped to you Next Day Air."

Both companies responeded to my emails the same day and I am getting the CD, so I am pretty pleased. In addition, I got a good deal on the Dell Dimension 3000 (2.4 Celeron) with 512 meg of ram and a 17 inch LCD monitor for $398 after rebates. After uninstalling the junk, it runs amazingly quick for that price. And I love the monitor.
