Is it possible to run IE7 under XP using the program compatibility tool in Vista? When ever I select it it says I can't as its part of the operating system. Even creating a shortcut doesn't work. Can anyone suggest a way round this?
I want to run IE7 under XP to try and fool a website that is insisting on XP only to view its content (it also insists on IE6 or better, I tried Firefox and the website wouldn't let me in with that).
What I meant about the shortcut was that I couldn't run the shortcut under program compatibility (I created it okay).
Thanks for the suggestion. A quick google search on browser agent strings turned up a utility on microsoft's own web site for changing this temporarily which has worked.
