Not all sites are compatible with IE7 yet.  Google for a program from Microsoft named:

 

User Agent String Utility. This allows IE7 to appear as IE6 to those pages.

The utility ins't clumsy at all, you just need to remember to open IE7 with that shortcut.

If you find the user agent string utility clumsy (I agree :-)) you can use a file that sets the user agent string to IE6 for your regular IE 7 shortcut (i.e. it will look as if you are using IE 6 for all sites you visit), with another file to revert back to user agent IE7 at some later stage if you wish (when Yahoo has sorted itself). The file you download at the link 'Internet Explorer 6'  changes the registry to user agent IE 6

The link ''Intenet Explorer 7' provides the file to change back to user agent IE7.

 

They are .reg files. Save them to your hard drive in some suitable folder. To apply, double click on the file, click yes to any warning message; that will merge the file with your registry.

 

 

Except that you first get the additional pane, where you have to change the settings, so an extra two clicks (if you don't want to report to MS) before IE opens.
