I just recently removed some very virulent spyware from my computer, and now I cannot use any hyperlinks on any websites which indicate a 'javascript()' message on the bottom of the screen, as opposed to a '
http://...' link. I think that I have to reinstall Java, which came with my computer. The Java website is not helpful at all, neither was the microsoft webpage. Can ANYONE HELP ME?!
Actually, I have windows XP and my computer did come shipped with Java.
When I move my cursor over a hyperlink, one of two things happen along the very bottom of the internet explorer window (the gray bar): either the link is indicated as being an " http://... " link, or something along the lines of " javascript() show... " shows up. Since I have removed the aforementioned spyware, any hyperlink that brings up " javascript() " does not load, at all.
I do not know what to do! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java, I have tried downloading new patches for IE 6.0, downloading a Java troubleshooting program, NONE OF IT WORKS. Please, someone help!
You indicate that your problem is with "javascript" That is not java. I believe you should be looking to enable javascript. You may need to "repair" IE 6.
I am having the same exact problem! What can be done? I am also having a problem playing anything which requires a video player such as realplayer, quicktime, etc... nothing ever plays anymore? Ever since I started using Netscape, the latest edition? I still use IE .6 as well. Any advise? Please?

If your computer came with Windows XP SP1 it did not include Java. You can download Sun's Java Runtime Environment from here.
