mouse

The mouse I got with my new Dell desktop is horrible .  I have Dimension E521, and I have lost more material for my business and club stats with this mouse not working properly.  Can anyone recommend a mouse that would be compatible and reliable?  I believe the little rubber ball is the fault of a lot of it.

Personally I'm a big fan of Microsoft Mice. I've got a Wheel Mouse Optical (Blue) on my old system and an IntelliMouse Explorer (both wired mice) connected to my new Dell. Microsoft's mice are the only one's I've bought for at least a decade. Go optical, ball mice get dirty too easily. All wired MS mice come with a PS2/USB adapter in case you still need a PS2 connection for your mouse.

I'm using a wireless Logitech optical mouse.  The battery lasts for several months.  I personally don't like Microsoft mice as they do not seem to "fit" my hand and I've had pain problems with them.  Never had a "pain" problem with a Logitech.  I've been using Logitech since the Windows 3.1 era.
