New E1505 not Bitlocker compatible?

I have a brand new E1505 Inspirion preinstalled with Vista Ultimate. When I just tried to enable Bitlocker, I was informed that: "A TPM was not found. A TPM is required to turn on Bitlocker. If your computer has a TPM then contact the computer manf. for Bitlocker compatible BIOS" What does this all mean?

The first just goes to page with an "you are not authorized to view this page" message. And the second one goes to a page talking about which Thinkpads are compatible with BitLocker.

I think they're doing some work on the first site. I got the same message a few times, and then got a message some updates were in progress. The second link refers to Thinkpads but has some information re. the TPM security chip.
