New virus - Randex.E

I was infected with the blaster worm yesterday. Downloaded the patch from Microsoft and then a worm removal tool from Symantec. My system was cleansed.

Now, today, I have a new virus. My Norton software detected it but cannot remove it. It is called "W32.Randex. E". Can find no info at Symantec or Microsoft. Can anyone help me get rid of it?  Does anyone know what it will do to my system?

This is a new virus and the protection is in the Aug 13th definition update. Check your definition date in NAV. You might need to manually download the latest def from Intelligent Updater. The auto updates are done on Wednesdays. Last week there were several extras. Run Live Update extra times during the week when there's a virus alert.

Thanks Mary G. Do you know why if I am completely up-to-date on my Norton updates that I would get infected and my Norton antivirus software wouldn't be able to prevent it?

I just  checked the Norton site and there's already another Intelligent updater available for download for another new virus. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.bugsoft.html

I have the same problem with Randex.  I went to symantec to remove, but I can't get through the part where I am told to delete lines in regedit...which is step 5 in the removal process from symantec (norton).  Is there a fix that will do that so I'm don't accidently delete the wrong thing?
