Partition Magic conflicts with GoBack

To use Partition Magic it is first necessary to disable Norton GoBack.
Apart from losing GoBack history it can take a long time to disable Goback depending upon the amount of history involved.
My System Restore is unreliable and GoBack has been useful in the past.
Is there any way around this problem or are there other partitioning and restoration systems which do not conflict.
I am using XP home with SP2
I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Why do you need to save the Go-Back restore points??? After you use Partion magic, you can re-enable Go-Back, and it will start rebuilding the history from that point on.

But it would be best to uninstall Goback before using PM, and reinstall GoBack after you are done.

I know it's a pain, but I don't know of any other way. Norton Ghost is great if you have a 2nd hard-drive.

Thank you msil217 for your advice. I think I will go for another hard drive and probably external.

If you buy a second Hard drive, you can backup the image  from the main drive using a disk-imaging program like Ghost.
    :)

Others may have a better suggestion, but I use GoBack, and Ghost if GoBack cannot fix my problems.

GoBack has to disabled to backup or restore from an image.

I forgot to add: ALWAYS backup your irreplaceable files (documents, pictures, music, videos, etc) to an external source. You mentioned an external Hard-Drive. That'll work.

Hard drives can quit, or become corrupted.

I don't have an external HD, so I backup to CD's.

    :)

Thanks again. Since I have GoBack I think combining it with Ghost is the way to go.
