Problems printing with Windows XP Service Pack 2

After I installed the Service Pack 2  on my Dell computer with Windows XP home edition I have been unable to print with my Canon Multipass F60 printer.  I get the message "Unable to communicate with device."  I tried to take the computer back to the restore point before the Service Pack and then I could print.  I then undid the restore point and once again the printer will not print.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer to no avail, it still does not print.  How can I resolve this without uninstalling the Service Pack 2?  Any help would be appreciated.  I have turned off the Windows firewall since I have McAfee Firewall installed, both ways with the Windows firewall or off, the printer will not work.  After each change I have rebooted my computer, nothing helps.  Help.

No, I did not realize that Canon had new drivers for SP2.  Where do I go to download these new drivers?  I am not sure how to do this.

Lisa, when loading device drivers, make certain you also turn off your anit virus software, or any other program of that type to allow the driver to load cleanly. The only prob;lem I have printing wise with XP, every once in a while it kick in an unknown usb device ( from experience with my system, I know it kicks out my HP 940c deskjet printer, which I have to unplug from the system, reboot, and re plug the device back in after reboot, it does not happen often, but every once in a while). I got tired of this after a while, and got out my 940c driver disk from hp and installed it, and you should see how quickly XP recognized it when I went for the manufacturors device driver. Gate's operating systems are designed to make end users life not too easy LOL, but we deal with them.
