Random DOS screen comes up while in IE
For the last several weeks I have been geeting a random DOS screen coming up every time in IE. There appears to be no pattern.
Sometime it comes up as if though it's looking for a floppy (I don't have any) while at other time it comes up just as a blank DOS screen trying to execute something like:
C:\Documents and Settings\Dad\Local Settings\Tempc:\35750.exe
The exe is always different.
I am able to get out of with the end command. It does not appear to consume resources.
I've run virus checks, spyware programs and registry checks and the problem still happens.
Has anyone else run into something like this?

- try cleaning out both the Temp and Temporary Internet Files folders (remember to turn on option to view all hidden files), empty the recycle bin, cold reboot computer, go back and see if the two folders are still empty, then wait and see if the problem is still there
- I have no problem deleting the Temp file.I can find them and delete the TEMP files without a problem, but they keep coming back.My problem is that the DOS screen just appears on a random basis, as if though it wants to execute something.I have looked at the files PROPERTIES to try and figure out where it's coming from but have had no luck.I have not made any changes to the system, that's why I thought it was a worm or a virus and have checked for that. I have found some spyware and have cleaned them out but the problem comes up again as soon as I start using IE.Is there any kind of a log I can use or initiate that would help me pinpoint the problem?
- reduce the number of programs that start up with windows to the bare minimum (using msconfig). turn off as many of the windows services as possible (using service management in admin tools). install a firewall. take a note of the processes currently running. when the problem occurs, take a note of the processes running and compare them with the previous list. besides iexplore.exe, what other processes are new? search for info on these new processes. also note if these new processes ask for permission to access the internet. repeat the procedure to see if the names of these new processes change each time the problem occurs.

If it's a temp file, you can try this. Start> Run> type %temp% in the box and > OK. From the Edit tab at the top select 'select all' and then press delete. Then see if it is gone.
