re-outlook express

can anyone please tell me how to re-install windows outlook express as i have deleted it...i have had problems with my emails and was advised to uninstall outlook express and re-install it but i haven't got an xp disc it was already installed on the pc have the service pack two..but i understand you can re-install xp in DOS MODE but i don't know how or if there is an easier way could you please let me know..have used the forum before and you've never let me down...............cheers ste nicko:smileysad:

    I assume that when you say you deleted Outlook Express, you mean more than just deleting the shortcut(s) to it. How did you delete or uninstall it? 

    If you have a restore point dated prior to when you deleted OE, you might be able to get it back by restoring to that point (I'm not ceratain, but worth a shot).

    Otherwise you would use the CD to reinstall the deleted files. You should have got an XP CD with the PC if this came new from Dell. However if you updated to SP2 later, and the CD does not include SP2, that CD will not work, even if you find it (it will tell you that the versiuon of XP on your drive is later).

    However, since you have SP2 you could try reinstall the full service pack 2, as suggested in thelink below. You can get the full SP2 free on a CD, or download it (266MB!) also mentioned in this link. See the section Windows XP SP2.

    There is no DOS mode in XP.
