Remote Desktop

I have an Inspiron 6400 running XP MCE and Dimension 8300 running XP Home. I am wanting to set up a remote connection allowing my laptop to control my desktop. How do I do this? Every time I try it says my workgroup does not have any terminal servers set up on it. How do I solve this?

Is there a piece of free 3rd party software that will achieve the same thing???

I'm sure there are but I'm not that familiar with the options.  The biggest thing you'll lose is the ability to connect from any other windows machine -- you'll likely need the add-on software placed on both client and host machines.

You might look into VNC:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VNC

Laplink and pcanywhere are other name brand options but they are not free (and not necessarily the best).

XP Home does not support hosting (being controlled by) remote desktop.
