schudeled tasks

i`m new to computers. i have this dell unit 3 months & found that my scheduled tasks have never run. i tried to correct this however i keep getting the following:  error 0x8007007a    data area passed to a system call is to small.     could someone walk me thru the proceedure to correct this ? thanks.

    lost- mad,

    The procedure given here for Windows 2000 should also work for Windows XP. To start and stop the task scheduler service go to Start|Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services. Scroll down to Task Scheduler. Click to select it. There will be links at the upper left of the window that opens which you can use to stop, then start, the service.

    Denny, thanks for your help.  however your advise was to no avail as the problem continues. same error message and the box that pops up will not allow me to enter & keep user name or password.  what am I doing wrong?
