slow connection

When I get on line it takes forever to look at pages. I tried deleting cookies and all of that. I also turned off my computer and then it will run fast and after a couple of minutes it gets real slow again. I have to turn my modem off like every 30 min so I can use the computer at the right speed. can you help.

    Have you eliminated all unnecessary programs that load at startup?  Are you running antivirus software with up to date virus definitions?  Have you scanned for and removed all spyware and other internet parasites?

    I downloaded another spyware and it found some instances but it still is running slow. how do eliminate all unnecessary programs that load at startup
