Software agreement

Hi folks! CNET – Downloads released interesting software from company Astonsoft.com “DeepBurner- ultimate CD/DVD burning solution”. In the license agreement company forces you to except one clause sounds fishy, it states following:

“Grant of License. Freeware. You may use the software without change. Astonsoft  may place advertisements in evaluation copies of the software and keep statistics regarding your use of software. (E.g. number of daily unique users, average sessions per user, average session time, certain system information, daily ad displays and Click-Through). Astonsoft will not monitor the content of your use (e.g. sites selected or files used)”.

I would deeply appreciate if somebody can explain what this clause in the agreement means. The way I understand it - this software bundled with some kind of Spy Program. And I should avoid using this software. Or, I am wrong?

Sounds "spy-like" to me. You could install it and then run a SpyBot S&D and AdAware scan. Remove the problems that the scans find. If the DeepBurner software doesn't work, then you know it was full of stuff you didn't want anyway.
