System Standby Failure

When I attempt to place my Dell Dimension into STANDBY or HIBERNATE mode, I receive this message:

"System Standby Error.

The device driver for the 'Printer Port Logical Interface' device is preventing the machine from entering stamdby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver."

How do I find such driver?

    tamale1924,

You may get some insight into the problem from the thread here and the background information here.

That being said, in general if you have difficulty utilizing standby or hibernate modes on a desktop system it is not worth the effort to correct. Rather than these modes, set them to NEVER and set the monitor and hard drive to power down after a period of inactivity you choose.
