Taskbar notification area

My taskbar notification area with the Quick Launch icons all of a sudden moved from the bottom of my desktop screen to the left side.  How do I get it to move back and why did it move in the first place?

Move the mouse cursor to a blank part of the taskbar.  Hold down the left mouse button and then drag toward the bottom of the screen to move the task bar back to the bottom.

You probably have the taskbar unlocked.  In that circumstance, a press and drag will move the whole bar to another side of the computer.  Simply press the tool bar and slide it back to the bottom.   Once it's in place, right click on the tool bar and select Lock the taskbar.

    That should fix it.

    Good luck,

and also just hope your customise notification area doesn't go down hill like mine did and you have to end up editing the registry.. apparently if it gets too large eg too many icons in the customise selection it can become corupted, or so said the tutorial i read opn how to fix it
