    edecuir,

The only way that message can occur is if you are not booting from the XP CD. If you do, the presently installed operating system is not detected.

You've posted over and over with no rhyme or reason, and not listened to advice given to you.  You seem to have no idea what you want to do, and when given suggestions you ignore them or lash out at the person giving the advice.  Therefore, you should not expect further help from people.

edecuir, you didn't say what model dell that you have.. like denny said, if you want to do a clean reinstall win xp, you have to boot from the cd-rom drive with the win xp cd.. look at some instructions for installing win xp.. usually, there are "reinstall guides" in "dell support"..

if you want to do a "repair install", it sounds like you need to use a win xpsp2 cd.. if you do not have a win xpsp2 cd, you can order one for free from microsoft..
