Well I couldn't find a Dimension topic to put formatting the harddrive so I decided to place my query in windows XP forum.

 

Right my computer has a virus. Tried to get rid of it but it will not budge so I have decided to reformat. Supposedly all I need to do is insert the purple Dell CD into the drive, restart then go through the options of reformatting the computer. Trouble is the computer does not detect the disc during boot up and just goes straight to the desktop. Am I doing anythign wrong?

 

Can anyone tell me how to get the computer to recognize the disc and give me the option to format.
