I had a problem with an incompatibility between scrscn and System Mechanic on my D9100. I also thought scrscn was unnecessary, so I deleted it. That was the end of my instalation. Had to reload a complete backup, as nothing else got the system operating. Got rid of the Zone Alarm firewall, but have just installed the latest version and have had no problems. During the period of no ZA, System Mechanic had several updates also. Get rid of ZA before you try the Vista installation again.
