virus protection message

After updating with SP2, every time I boot  I get a baloon with this message:

"Your computer might be at risk. Your virus protection status is unknown. Click this baloon to fix the problem".

Clicking on the baloon it brings up the Windows Security Center which shows virus protection status unknown,  but doesn't really say why.

I have Symantic anti-virus enabled,  and updated. So why "unknown status"?

What version of Norton AntiVirus are you using? Did you try doing a manual Live Update of your Norton Antivirus?

Synmantec says the problem is fixed in Systemworks 2005 and an update is available for Systemworks 2004. Since I have Systemworks 2003 does that mean I just have to put up with that baloon?
