You can make Vista act like XP admin, but this disables some of the new protections afforded by Vista.

You should be saving to your own personal folder such as Documents or one you have made, not Program Files.

I agree - but could you provide the OP with some explanation for this (not that I expect you to respond)?

This fix seemed to do the trick. Now maybe I can get some things done on this stupid computer.

Aight, what I know about Vista is that it will make sure you are the boss and will ask you to do lots of things to understand that. To be able to easily save stuff into Program Files folder, right click it, properties, Security, and Click Advanced. Go to the Owner tab and make yourself the owner of the folder. And tada - there ya go - you will be able to do whatever you want to because Vista now knows who the boss is when it comes to Program Files. :smileyvery-happy:

Turn off, UAC may help... Just remember to turn it on back, just to still "protected"
