vista upgrade or full ver?

Is it better to use the upgrade or to get the full version of Vista. I didn't get the upgrade option but I want to install it later.

Upgrade version is okay, but I am a firm believer in doing a clean install whenever you place a new operating system on your machine.  That way it clears out all the junk from the previous operating system.  From what has been discussed, the downside of the upgrade version though is the fact that you can only upgrade from the desktop of Win XP.  This is one of the reasons I bought the full version myself.  However, I have noticed one article on the web which you might be interested in reading:

If your question is about buying the full retail package or a retail upgrade package (which costs less), buy the upgrade. It's the same product, it just expects to find an installed system to qualify for the upgrade. Otherwise, you're getting the same products.

One caveat - the upgrade, if installed in the normal manner, supposedly causes your XP licence to be invalidated (the product key will no longer be able to be activated) should you decide to roll back.

This can be avoided by doing a clean install with the upgrade package, as described here:
