Windows XP Home Desktop Properties problem

When I right click on my desktop and then click properties nothing happens.  Anybody out there experienced the same problem. I am running Windows XP Home with all updates up to date.  Also running software and hardware firewall plus Antivirus and Spam software.

    ShellExView v1.14 and later versions lists the items from the desktop.

    Try the Display Applet from within the Control Panel.
