When I received my computer there was no Windows CD with it. I can see on the side of my computer that the operating system that I am running is Windows XP Home Edition, and it shows my CD key for that product. I have a need now to reformat my computer and I would need the operating system disk. I have a legal CD key that came with my computer, but the CD did not come with it. I saw i can get all of my drivers and downloads from dell.com, i just need the OS CD so i can make my computer "like new".
Is there a way you can send the operating system CD to me?
Perhaps the below link will help. What system do you have ?
<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>
Restore as it was shipped if you purchased your system after July 2004 I think, and the Symantec restore program was not corrupted.....
How to burn a new Operating System CD on a new system
If they do not work for you, you will have to call Dell up and ask them for a OS CD. This is a User to User forum and Dell does not answer your requests from here.
Maybe one of you can help me. I lost my resource cd during a move and have reinstalled XP but I don't have the drivers and utilities. Can I get a new one somehow?
