Windows XP Pro -- Does Dell include Multilingual User Interface Pack?
Recent purchasers of Dells with Windows XP Professional:
Did your OS come with the Multilingual User Interface Pack? It would allow us to change the UI language of Windows elements like task bar, windows, error messages, etc., without having to purchase and install a localized version of Windows instead.
The sales and customer service reps all keep telling me it's included and that I can change the language setting in the Regional and Language Settings in the control panel. I don't think they understand what I mean, even after I point out that what I need is a localized UI, not just foreign language input.
The English language XP Pro that I have on my laptop (purchased from Dell 3 years ago) doesn't have the ability to change the UI language, and the help file says I need the MUI, which isn't available to retail customers but might be available at time of purchase of a new computer.
Dell customer service and sales reps keep telling me that the XP Pro that comes with the systems now does have it.
I'm hesitant to make the purchase only to find that the sales reps were referring only to the language input, and not the MUI.
