xp revert ...

hey,

i got my vista upgrade and installed it today and i was wondering if theres any way to revert back to xp other than a clean install? the thing is that even after 1 day ive been having nothing but problems with vista and i just prefer xp. the main problem is that even with all the special vista interface things turned off its drastically reduced the performance of my pc. i work with 3d modeling software and with vista my computer slows down with less that 5% of the amount of polygons that xp would run perfectly fine with.

if i did a clean install, though, i would lose the pre-installed dell software like cineplayer, roxio dvd burner stuff, and all that, but i dont want to. so is there any other way for me to install xp again without losing the programs? or would i lose them anyway since they were upgraded along with the operating system?

i just want a way to go back to xp, i prefer it and it works much better with my pc.

thanks ...

If you have the CDs that originally came with your computer, you can reinstall everything that you had prior to the Vista upgrade.

the computer didnt come with cds for cineplayer, the roxio stuff and even mcafee, so i cant reinstall it all. the only cds that came with it were for xp, drivers, ms office, the monitor and the soundcard.

If these products were installed when you purchased the machine, you should have received CD's to reinstall everything. If you're sure you don't have anything like this, contact Dell and they will send you the appropriate software.

Well if you don't try, you surely won't get them. It's certainly worth a phone call (in my opinion).
